How to do Trig Integrals

calculus 2 math May 20, 2025
Here is the latest video just posted on Trigonometric Integration!

There are three trigonometric substitutions:
1. a²-x² -> asinθ=x
2. a²+x² -> atanθ=x
3. x²-a² -> asecθ=x

The tangent trig sub can be remembered by being the only one with a + sign. The other two kind of go together... "a" sounds like "BAE" as in a significant other, and "x" as in "EX" or an ex-significant other. If you put your BAE before your EX, that's a good sign (sine), and if you put your EX before your BAE, you see can't (secant)!

Also, I finished doing the first part in a Series on Series! Here's the link to that playlist, share it with anyone taking Calculus 2!
